• Promise Plus Application - Spring 2027

  • The MATC Promise Plus program supports both students who graduated high school and have not yet attended college as well as students who have attended college, stopped out, and are interested in returning.

     

    Please read all information below regarding the deadlines and criteria for MATC's Promise Plus Scholarship Program. 

     

    Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility criteria to be considered:

    1. Have earned a high school credential and never attended college OR have already earned at least 6 college credits
      1. If a student has already attended college and earned 6 credits, they must have not been enrolled since December 31, 2025 (ie any enrollment Spring 2026, Summer 2026, or Fall 2026 would make a student ineligible)
      2. If the credits were not earned at MATC, a student must submit transcripts from the other college(s)
    2. Live in a low-income household (below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level)
    3. Have not already earned an Associates degree or higher from any institution
    4. Have done well academically
      1. If you've attended MATC before at any point: The student must be in good academic standing at MATC (regardless of length of time between application and last term at MATC)
      2. If you've never attended college: The student must have earned a 2.0 GPA during their junior year or first semester senior year (GED graduates must have averaged a 145 across all subjects; HSED graduates already meet criteria)
      3. If you've attended college, but not MATC: The student's academics will be based on their performance in high school.  They must have earned a 2.0 GPA during their junior year or first semester senior year (GED graduates must have averaged a 145 across all subjects; HSED graduates already meet criteria)
    5. Live in the MATC district or have graduated from a high school in the MATC district (Milwaukee + Ozaukee County + Germantown, WI)
    6. Have not previously participated in the MATC Promise Program (Adult Promise, Direct from High School Promise, or Promise Plus)

     

    Think you may be eligible? To be considered for the scholarship for Spring 2027, please submit all of the following by December 11th, 2026:

    1. Submit this application
    2. Complete an MATC Admissions Application
      1. If new to MATC, apply to the college here
      2. Returning to MATC after a year or more away? Complete the application for re-admission.
    3. Submit a 2026-2027 FAFSA at fafsa.gov
      1. FAFSAs are required of all applicants, regardless of their financial aid status
    4. Submit a final official high school transcript to MATC's Admissions (Learn more here: https://www.matc.edu/apply/complete.html)
    5. If you've already attended college somewhere else, please submit your college transcripts to MATC Admissions (Learn more here: https://www.matc.edu/apply/complete.html)
    6. Register for 9+ college-level credits towards your Promise-eligible program
    7. If you are determined to be eligible, you must attend a mandatory Promise Plus Orientation (held virtually)

    To be considered for the scholarship, make sure to complete all required steps (detailed on the first page of this application), by the December 11, 2026 deadline. Please note: this scholarship is not first-come first-served, so decisions will not be sent until AFTER the deadline.

     

    Emails regarding your Promise Plus status will be sent to the email provided on this application. You will also receive a copy of this application.
