• MATC Student Emergency Grant Application (2026-2027 Academic Year)

  • Before you begin:

    Emergency grants are meant to help with unexpected, one-time financial emergencies that affect a student's ability to complete the semester.  These are not meant for ongoing or chronic financial hardships.

     

    To be eligible you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

    1. Be actively enrolled in at least 6 credits in the current semester

    2. Have completed one semester of post-secondary education at MATC

    3. Be in good academic standing (learn more here)

    4. Have not received an emergency grant this academic year (an academic year runs: summer, fall, and spring)

     

    This form is confidential and secure.  It takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. Application will not be able to be completed if requested documentation isn't provided.

    Please note that completing an application does not guarentee funding.

    Please note: The maximum emergency grant award is $500, but not all students will receive the full amount. Awards are based on demonstrated need, available funding, and the details provided in your application. If the expense you're requesting assistance for is less than $500, the award will not exceed that amount. Additional funds beyond the documented need are not awarded.

    Documentation of invoice or bill is required.  Vendors will be verified.

     

    Information about supporting documents:

    1. Please upload supporting documentation related to the challenge area(s) indicated in your application.
    2. The following types of documentation can be uploaded for our review process (but are not limited to):
      1. Current signed lease in your name (or your name on the lease) and a current statement of balance owed from your landlord/rental company dated within the last 30 days
      2. Itemized car repair estimate in your name that is dated within the last 30 days (proof of auto insurance may be requested)
      3. Medical/dental bills in your name that is dated within the last 30 days
      4. Utility bill in your name that is dated within the last 30 days
      5. Childcare bill in your name that is from a state credentialed provider dated within the last 30 days

    Based on the information provided, you do not currently meet the eligibility requirements to apply for the Student Emergency Grant.

     

    Emergency funds are limited and intended to support students who:

    1. Are actively enrolled in 6+ credits in the current semester

    2. Have completed at least one full semester of college level credits at MATC

    3. Are in good academic standing

    4. Facing a one-time, unexpected financial emergency

     

    That said, we do understand financial challenges can be difficult and complex. Even though you do not qualify for this grant, please feel free to reach out to the MATC Student Resource Center using one of the various methods:

  • Submission

  • Once you click on submit, your application for the 2026-2027 MATC Student Emergency Assistance Grant will be reviewed.  Due to the volume of applications, processing time varies.  Please reach out to emergency grant administrators with any questions (emergencygrant@matc.edu).

     

    What happens next?

    1. Application review: while we look at your application, we might send you an email to ask for more information or documentation.

    2. Application decision: we will email you our decision and give you next steps if your application is approved.

    3. Receiving a payment: we will email you payment details and next steps if your application is approved.
