Please read all information below regarding the deadlines & criteria for MATC's Promise Plus Scholarship Program:
To start Fall 2026, complete the following by July 31, 2026:

3. 2026-27 Financial Aid Application: FAFSA.gov
4. Submit Supplemental Items to MATC Admissions (Questions? Email apply@matc.edu)
>Official College Transcripts (required only if you have not earned at least 6 college level credits at MATC)
5. Register for 9+ college-level credits towards your Promise-eligible program
To be eligible for the MATC Promise Plus Program, a student must meet all of the following criteria:
Have earned a high school dipolma and never attended college
OR
Have already earned at least 6 college-level credits. If previous college-level credits have been earned, then must not have been enrolled in college since July 31, 2025 (ie any enrollment Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026 will make an applicant ineligible)
- Be Financial Aid eligible or live in a low-income household (Below 200% of federal poverty level)
- Graduate from a high school in the MATC District or live in the MATC District. This includes students completing their General Education Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Dipolma (HSED) or MATC's Adult High School.
- Be enrolled in at least 9+ college-level program credits towards an eligible program as of the July 31, 2026 deadline
- Have not already earned an associate's degree or higher from any college or university
- All applicants must be in good academic standing and a minimum GPA of 2.0. If never attended college, earned a 2.0 GPA during either their junior year or first semester of senior year (GED graduates must have earned an average of 145 across all tests; HSED graduates meet GPA requirement automatically)
Please note that this is not a first-come, first serve application. There is a preference for associate degree–seeking students.
The Promise Plus Scholarship will provide funds for required books and materials (through the MATC Bookstore). Amounts are based on the number of enrolled credits. The scholarship also provides last-dollar coverage of tuition after grants and other scholarships.
