Froedtert Memorial Hospital Scholarship Application - Spring 2025
Thank you for your interest in the MATC Froedtert Memorial Hospital Scholarship Program!
The Froedtert Memorial Hospital Scholarship is a new scholarship that provides MATC Healthcare Pathway students with help in covering costs necessary to complete their degree including tuition, required books and supplies, and licensure exams. This scholarship — which also includes a stipend, an incentive to keep progressing toward your degree, and access to emergency grant funding — is designed to help remove financial barriers to assist students in completing their degrees and enter the healthcare field. This scholarship is available to MATC Healthcare Pathway students pursuing an associate degree who have successfully petitioned in their program of study.
Please note: while the FMHS program typically only accepts new students for the Fall semester, the opportunity to start in Spring 2025 is available due to funding.
To be Eligible for this Scholarship, You Need to Meet ALL of These Requirements:
- Be enrolled in an associate level healthcare pathway program. If your program requires a petition, you have successfully completed the petition process
- Live in the MATC district (all of Milwaukee County, most all of Ozaukee County and small parts of Washington and Waukesha counties; see this map of Wisconsin technical college districts - https://www.wtcsystem.edu/detailed-college-map/)
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for Spring 2025 (unless you require fewer credits to graduate)
- Have not previously earned an associate level degree or higher
- Have a cumulative institutional GPA of 2.5 or higher
- (i.e. a GPA of 2.5 or higher from courses completed at MATC. Transfer GPAs are not included)
Scholarships are limited based on available funds, students who meet one or more of the following criteria will be given additional consideration:
- Student parents/guardians
- Students with low income (determined by FAFSA and/or income verification)
- Students who are ineligible for federal financial aid (Ex. DACA, undocumented with legal right to work, 150% of aid, etc.)
- Students who identify with groups that are historically underrepresented in healthcare industry and/or the healthcare pathway at MATC
- Students of color
- Students who are historically underrepresented in the healthcare pathway at MATC (Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, American Indian, Asian American, Hispanic/Latinx)
- Students living with a disability/disabilities
- Students who do not identify as cisgender-female
- Students who identify as LGBTQIA+
You are required to complete the steps below to be considered:
- Complete this scholarship application
- Complete the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Please note: FAFSAs are required for all applicants except those with DACA status and students who are not citizens but have legal right to work in the US.
- If new to MATC, please complete the MATC program application at matc.edu/apply.
- Have either successfully petitioned into your healthcare program if a petition is required, or completed all prerequisites for your program if a petition is not required
- If you are in any of the following programs, you must have successfully petitioned your program to be eligible for this scholarship
- Anesthesia Techology
- Cardiovascular Technology (Invasive or Echocardiography)
- Dental Hygiene
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Healthcare Services Management
- Health Information Technology
- LPN to ADN Progression
- Medical Lab Technician
- Occupational therapy Assistant
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Radiography
- Registered Nursing
- Respiratory Therapy
- Surgical Technology
- If you are in any of the following programs, you need to have completed all prerequisited for your program to be eligible for this scholarship
- Community Health and Nutrition Navigator
- Nutrition and Dietetic Technician
