Once accepted to the MATC Promise for New HS Graduates, I never need to reapply. I remain in the program as long as I: enroll in 9+ financial aid eligible credits each fall & spring, earn a 2.0 GPA each term, complete 67% of my credits attempted each term, and remain eligible for Pell grants.
Promise is a last-dollar scholarship. It covers tuition charges ONLY after other grants/scholarships are applied. Promise does not cover books or supplies.
If ever I do not enroll in courses, change to a program that is not eligible for financial aid, stop being eligible for Pell grants, or do not meet the academic requirements to continue, I will be disqualified from Promise and given the chance to appeal my status.
My promise status is not official until after the financial aid census date each semester. Before census, I am conditionally eligible -- as my status could change based on if I drop courses or change programs.
